The Journal of Taiji Science (JTS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary research and clinical innovation in Taiji, Qigong, and related mind-body practices. The journal’s mission is to promote scientific inquiry into the health-enhancing mechanisms and applications of traditional and contemporary wellness systems, with a particular focus on medical Taiji and integrative health models.
JTS welcomes original research articles, systematic reviews, theoretical frameworks, and cross-disciplinary perspectives in the following areas:
-
Taiji and Qigong practice and pedagogy, exploring instructional design, training efficacy, and health outcomes;
-
Mind-body interventions and contemplative practices, including breathing techniques, meditation, movement therapies, and embodied cognition;
-
Cultural, philosophical, and historical perspectives on healing, embodiment, and energy systems;
-
Other traditional and emerging wellness disciplines, such as Wushu, yoga, Daoist internal arts, and innovative mind-body movement systems grounded in evidence-based inquiry.
-
Psychological health and wellness, including stress reduction, emotional regulation, cognitive enhancement, and resilience;
-
Sport science and exercise physiology, with attention to biomechanics, motor control, cardiorespiratory performance, and training adaptations;
-
Integrative and preventive medicine, particularly studies linking traditional practices with clinical, functional, and lifestyle medicine;
JTS encourages contributions that apply modern scientific tools—ranging from experimental design, neuroimaging, multi-omics, and psychophysiological measures—to deeply understand the mechanisms, standards, and global health potential of these practices. The journal is committed to fostering transdisciplinary dialogue between science, tradition, and public health innovation.
