Scope of the Journal of Taiji Science (JTS)

The Journal of Taiji Science (JTS) is an international, bilingual, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal that publishes high-quality research and scholarly works on Taiji, Qigong, and related mind–body practices. Utilizing a double-blind peer-review process, JTS aims to advance interdisciplinary research, clinical innovation, and evidence-based applications of traditional and contemporary wellness systems, with a special emphasis on medical Taiji and integrative health models.

JTS welcomes original research articles, systematic reviews, theoretical frameworks, and cross-disciplinary perspectives in the following areas:

  • Taiji and Qigong Practice & Pedagogy — instructional design, training efficacy, and health outcomes.

  • Mind–Body Interventions & Contemplative Practices — breathing techniques, meditation, movement therapies, and embodied cognition.

  • Cultural, Philosophical & Historical Perspectives — healing traditions, embodiment, and energy systems.

  • Traditional & Emerging Wellness Disciplines — Wushu, yoga, Daoist internal arts, and innovative movement systems grounded in evidence-based inquiry.

  • Psychological Health & Wellness — stress reduction, emotional regulation, cognitive enhancement, and resilience.

  • Sport Science & Exercise Physiology — biomechanics, motor control, cardiorespiratory performance, and training adaptations.

  • Integrative & Preventive Medicine — linking traditional practices with clinical, functional, and lifestyle medicine.

JTS encourages submissions employing modern scientific tools—including experimental design, neuroimaging, multi-omics, and psychophysiological measures—to explore mechanisms, standards, and the global health potential of these practices. The journal seeks to foster transdisciplinary dialogue between science, tradition, and public health innovation.
