Submission Guidelines
The Journal of Taiji Science (JTS) welcomes contributions that explore the intersection of Taiji, mind-body health, wellness practices, and integrative medicine. Please carefully review the following guidelines before submitting your manuscript.
Submission Types
- Original Research: Reports of clinical or basic science research. Required sections: Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion. No word or reference limit.
- Review Articles: Systematic or narrative reviews. Required sections: Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion.
- Brief Reports: Short papers presenting preliminary or concise findings. Max. 2000 words recommended. Required sections: Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion.
- Case Reports: Clinical cases with relevant documentation. No abstract required.
- Innovation Articles: Description of novel techniques or practices. Required sections: Abstract, Introduction, Innovation/Approach, Discussion.
- Letters to the Editor: Commentary on JTS articles or topics. No abstract required. Ideally under 1000 words.
- Humanities Submissions: Poetry or narratives related to Taiji, wellness, or contemplative practices. No abstract or formatting restrictions.
Formatting Guidelines
- Language: English only.
- Text: Double-spaced, 12pt font (e.g., Times New Roman).
- Referencing: Use Vancouver style with numbered in-text citations (e.g., [1]). Reference list should be numbered in the order cited.
- Figures/Tables: Embed in manuscript or upload separately. Label with titles and units. Avoid vertical lines in tables.
Abstract
For Original Research and Reviews: Max 300 words. Structured into Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusion. Include trial number if applicable.
Title Page
- Manuscript title
- Author names and ORCID iDs (if available)
- Institutional affiliations and addresses
- Email addresses for all authors
- Identify corresponding author
Article Structure
- Introduction: 2–3 paragraphs, no subheadings
- Methods: Sufficient detail for reproducibility; subsections allowed
- Results & Discussion: Combined or separated; use subheadings as needed
- Conclusion: One paragraph summarizing findings and significance
Conflicts of Interest
Disclose any potential conflicts, such as financial ties, consultancies, or equity holdings relevant to the submission.
Acknowledgments
List all funding sources (grants, foundations, etc.) and contributions by individuals not listed as authors. Obtain permission before including names.
Open Access and Archiving
All articles in JTS are published under the CC BY 4.0 License. Authors may self-archive accepted versions in institutional repositories or personal websites.
Ethical Compliance
- All research involving humans or animals must include ethics approval.
- Plagiarism screening is mandatory (e.g., via iThenticate).
- JTS uses a double-blind peer review process.
- No submission, processing, or publication fees are charged.
